Air Conditioning Theft and Two are Charged

A man and woman from Severn have been arrested after they were caught removing and stealing air conditioners that they planned to sell for scrap copper from a Hanover business, the Anne Arundel police announced Thursday.

The officers responding to a report of the theft at Chilltrol Heating and Air Conditioning in the 7700 block of Old Telegraph Road at around 5:58 a.m. on Wednesday had spoken with a person who said that they saw two people loading air conditioners into a pickup truck, police said.

The witness provided a description of the truck and police located it, according to authorities.

They found seven air conditioners, police said, which Chilltrol employees identified as their air conditioning equipment.

The suspects, David F. Burrows, 46, and Jeanne Z. Simms, 45, both of Severn, were arrested and charged with trespassing and theft, according to a press release.

Earlier this month, Anne Arundel police charged two brothers with stealing church air conditioners to sell their copper parts.
